# Reward Pools and References

Reward pools reuse weighted choice mappings, while reward-library references reuse a single complete reward entry. Neither is an objective pool.

## Pool file

Create reward-pools/supplies.yml:

```yaml
enabled: true
rewards:
  food:
    rate: 70
    rewards:
      bread:
        type: item
        item: {material: BREAD, amount: 8}
  mineral:
    rate: 30
    rewards:
      iron:
        type: item
        item: {material: IRON_INGOT, amount: 4}
```

Use it in a task/scroll/stage:

```yaml
rewards:
  supply:
    type: random
    pool: supplies
    count: 1
    repeat: false
```

IDs use lowercase letters, digits, \_ or -. Files are direct .yml children; disabled pools cannot be referenced. The pool choice map is expanded into the entry's random node before validation. pool and random together are invalid. Draw count/repeat stay on the consuming reward.

## Single-entry library

config.yml may define reward-library. as a complete reward entry. reference: replaces the whole entry, including any other fields on the referring node. It does not merge overrides. Referenced pool/library structures are resolved recursively; missing/cyclic/overdeep references reject loading.

## Reload and editor

Use /uq editor reward-pool to edit choices. Definition reload validates all enabled reward pools and their consumers. Accepted/generated instance reward definitions and unlocked stage snapshots are not redrawn by editing a pool. See [random rewards](/for-ultimatequest/configuration/rewards/random.md).
